Featuring a sophisticated optical design, a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements is used to minimize both chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range in order to achieve high sharpness, clarity, and colour accuracy. A Super Multi-Layer Coating combined with a Nano Porous Coating also helps to suppress lens flare and ghosting to a greater degree than conventional anti-reflective coatings. Though the full-time manual focus is available, this lens is equipped with a stepping motor that enables smooth, high-speed autofocusing that is notably quiet whether utilizing features such as Face/Eye Detection AF or during video shooting. The new Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 DG DN is newly developed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, optimising the short flange back distance to achieve the compactness and high-resolution image quality. 

It incorporates low dispersion glass elements and new coating technology called “Nano-Porous Coating (NPC)”. 

One FLD glass and five SLD glass elements are appropriately arranged to suppress chromatic aberration to the edge of the frame. 

Three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens at the foremost surface, are used to effectively minimise coma flare, etc., thereby achieving mind-blowing resolution.
